About
Description
Big aLICe Brewing is a renowned brand that has been making waves in the craft beer scene since it began production in January 2013. Founded by Kyle Hurst and Scott Berger, Big aLICe Brewing started with a 10-gallon pilot system, brewing and bottling flavor-forward, one-off batches. These unique creations were exclusively sold through their CSB membership program.
The brand's mission is to preserve seasonal flavors through beer, and they achieve this by using local, fresh, and organic ingredients sourced from Community Shared Agriculture and Food Co-ops. Over the years, Big aLICe Brewing has expanded its offerings. They now have a taproom for onsite drinking and have increased their brewing capacity.
Their commitment to creative small-batch brewing remains unwavering as they continue to push boundaries and brew beers that both challenge and excite their customers. In 2019, Big aLICe Brewing opened their Barrel Room in Brooklyn's Industry City. This dedicated barrel aging facility houses a large taproom and space for many barrels, allowing the brand to continue growing and experimenting.
Excitingly, in May 2021, Big aLICe Brewing opened its third location in the Finger Lakes region. This facility not only houses a brewery with a 15bbl brewhouse but also offers a taproom and beautiful grounds. The laid-back and relaxing atmosphere of the Finger Lakes perfectly complements Big aLICe Brewing's philosophy.
As a licensed New York State farm brewery, Big aLICe Brewing actively supports local and state agriculture. They collaborate with state hop farmers, maltsters, and local Queens businesses for specialty ingredients such as cold brew coffee, donuts, and honey. The brand's name, Big aLICe, pays homage to the iconic Queens landmark, the Ravenswood generator known as 'Big Allis.
' It symbolizes the brand's connection to the history and growth of their borough, specifically Long Island City. Whether you visit their Queens Brewery & Taproom, the Brooklyn Barrel Room, or the Finger Lakes Brewery & Taproom, Big aLICe Brewing invites you to immerse yourself in their craft beer experience.
