## Description

The Big Pink Benefit is a community fundraising event organized in support of the Big Pink Bus, a mobile mammography unit owned and operated by Lone Star Circle of Care, a nonprofit health center serving Texas communities. The event raises funds for the bus’s operation and administration and promotes breast cancer awareness and access to screening in Central Texas. Its 2026 benefit is scheduled for October 17 at El Buen Samaritano in Austin, featuring brunch, shopping, live and silent auctions, bus tours, and a program recognizing women affected by the service. Guests can participate as attendees, donors, sponsors, volunteers, or vendors. Since its relaunch in 2021, the Big Pink Bus has traveled nearly 50,000 miles, provided more than 10,000 mammograms, and helped connect patients with follow-up care. The benefit also honors Susan Dawson, whose advocacy and fundraising helped make the bus’s relaunch possible. Following its inaugural 2025 event, the Big Pink Benefit continues to bring community members together to support mobile breast cancer screening and care.
