The Big Sandy Volunteer Fire Department has been serving the community of Big Sandy, Montana for almost 61 years. With a history dating back to 1948, the department has become one of the top volunteer fire fighting organizations in the state. Over the years, it has responded to fires and assisted other departments, reaching as far as the east and west borders of Chouteau County, as well as Chinook, Highwood, Cook City, Silver Gate, and Noxon.

The dedicated members of the Big Sandy Fire Department have tackled a wide range of tasks, from cleaning yards to combating multi-million dollar grain elevator fires. This level of service has only been possible with the incredible support and donations from the community. Every day, the department relies on the generosity of the community to carry out their essential work.
