The Language Preservation Project, a part of Bilingual Generation, is dedicated to empowering families and educators in nurturing bilingualism and maintaining a strong connection to heritage languages. We offer a range of culturally-affirming programs, curricula, and resources designed to celebrate multilingualism and promote meaningful language learning experiences. With only 20% of Americans conversing in multiple languages compared to nearly 50% globally, we recognize the need for a different approach to bilingualism. Many heritage languages are lost by the third generation, which is why we believe it's crucial to take action now. Led by Dr. Veronica Benavides, our team understands the importance of fostering linguistic and cultural affirmation. Driven by her own personal experience, Dr. Benavides has dedicated herself to creating inclusive learning spaces and resources. Our mission is to ensure that children not only learn heritage languages but also develop a deep connection to their roots. Through collaboration between schools and families, we strive to make heritage language learning about connection rather than perfection.
