## Description

The Billy Fiske Foundation is a US 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity dedicated to preserving the legacy of William Meade Lindsley Fiske III and celebrating the friendship between the United States and the United Kingdom. Fiske was an American Olympic bobsled champion who later served as a Royal Air Force pilot during the Battle of Britain. He was the first American citizen pilot to die in combat in the Second World War.

The Foundation highlights Fiske’s bravery, creativity and devotion to his friends through educational and cultural initiatives that strengthen connections between the two nations. Its work includes supporting a memorial to Fiske near the US Embassy in London, bringing school and civic groups together, and encouraging exchanges that create new friendships. The Foundation also promotes the Billy Fiske Centenary Scholarship, an effort with Trinity Hall to fund an American student’s master’s studies there in 2028. Donations help sustain Fiske’s legacy, advance these initiatives and support the Foundation’s work in the US and UK. It emphasizes ethical, accountable nonprofit governance and operations.
