Their mission is to foster meaningful collaboration, resource and knowledge sharing, and professional development within the community. As the organization expands, they are committed to giving back to both their starting community and the next generation of Biodesign professionals.

The activities of Biodesign Alumni revolve around three core principles: Networking, Professional Development, and Service. The alumni of Biodesign Innovation Fellowship, which lasts for either one or two years, have completed a comprehensive training in the Biodesign Process—a systematic approach to identifying clinical needs and developing new biomedical technologies. These alumni go on to pursue careers in various fields such as medicine, engineering, marketing, and law, joining startups, public corporations, and academic institutions all over the world.
