## Description

Biodiversidad Virtual is a dedicated platform that fosters the collection and sharing of biodiversity data. Established originally as Insectarium Virtual in 1995, it evolved to incorporate various galleries and became Biodiversidad Virtual in 2008. The initiative is driven by a non-profit organization, Fotografía y Biodiversidad, which oversees its administration, volunteer coordination, and economic management.

Currently, Biodiversidad Virtual collaborates with the international portal observation.org, adopting a participatory and altruistic ethos. This partnership enhances its mission to engage communities in biodiversity documentation and conservation efforts. The platform offers a wide range of resources, including scientific publications, photographic collections, and interactive projects like MIGRATIO BV, which focus on specific ecological phenomena.

Through events such as La Gran Semana de la Biodiversidad, the brand successfully raises awareness about environmental issues and promotes citizen science. Biodiversidad Virtual is essential for anyone interested in ecology, conservation, and the active participation in biodiversity monitoring.
