The Bioeconomy Science Institute is a New Zealand research organisation focused on using science to advance bioeconomy innovation, supporting enduring growth, resilience and environmental sustainability. It brings together four leading research institutes: AgResearch, Manaaki Whenua – Landcare Research, Plant & Food Research, and Scion. Through this combined expertise, the Institute works to support the bioeconomy in New Zealand and beyond.

The organisation shares research, news, and events, and provides career opportunities across locations in Aotearoa New Zealand and internationally. Its Māori name, Maiangi Taiao, means “Uplifting nature through science,” reflecting its stated purpose and role.
