## Description

BioForum vzw is a reputable organization that actively responds to political developments and policies regarding the regulation of nitrogen in agricultural practices. Recently, the Minister of Environment, Zuhal Demir, unexpectedly introduced two ministerial instructions that impose stricter nitrogen rules for permits. However, BioForum criticizes these instructions as yet another episode in a political theater, hindering progress and causing uncertainty for all farmers and negatively impacting businesses with minimal impact. In response, BioForum calls for a calm and meaningful debate that establishes a vision for the future of agriculture, enabling farmers to work in harmony with nature. While BioForum acknowledges the need for measures to reduce nitrogen deposition in Flemish nature areas, they emphasize the importance of implementing effective strategies without unfairly burdening small to medium-sized farms in a blanket approach. BioForum advocates for considering the real impact of each farm on neighboring nature areas and urges the government to establish a comprehensive and secure framework through legislation.
