Biolaakso combines our region's abundant natural resources with globally competitive industry and high-quality research and education. The Biolaakso network consists of 23 partner organizations, coordinated by Kokkola University Consortium Chydenius. Central Ostrobothnia is home to a large concentration of chemical industry as well as a strong primary production area. We possess specialized expertise in chemistry, enabling the development of biomass value chains into high-value products. Biolaakso contributes to the intelligent specialization goals of the region.
