## Description

The Biological Survey of Canada (BSC) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the exploration and conservation of Canada’s biological diversity, particularly focusing on arthropods. Established in 1977, the BSC operates through a dynamic network of volunteers, researchers, and scholars committed to the promotion and synthesis of biodiversity research across the country. Managed by an elected Board of Directors, the BSC facilitates various projects and initiatives, including producing scientific publications, newsletters, and guides on Canadian arthropods. Membership is free and open to anyone interested in biodiversity, granting access to biannual newsletters and participation in annual meetings. The organization collaborates with academic institutions, government departments, and museums to enhance the understanding of Canada’s natural heritage. Notably, the BSC hosts the Canadian Journal of Arthropod Identification, a dedicated platform for publishing significant research contributing to the knowledge of Canada’s diverse arthropod fauna. Through its numerous initiatives, the BSC inspires Canadians to engage with and appreciate the complexity of their natural environment.
