Biomega Oy is a bioenergy company established in 2009 and based in Martinniemi, Oulu, in Finland’s North Ostrobothnia region. Its main activities include chipping and selling energy wood. The company buys wood for chipping from forest owners, machinery contractors, sawmills and forest management associations, and produces wood chips for power plants, contract work and its own heating plant. The plant supplies district heating to homes and commercial properties in Martinniemi, including a school and a daycare centre. Biomega also assesses opportunities for properties to connect to its expanding district heating network.

The company offers seasonal storage in Martinniemi for caravans, motorhomes, boats, cars, buses, motorcycles and personal watercraft. Its facilities include 2,500 square metres of heated space and 10,000 square metres of unheated space. In summer, Biomega sells bark mulch for gardens and landscaping, as well as natural safety wood chips for playgrounds, outdoor exercise areas and dog enclosures. Smaller quantities can be collected by private customers with free loading; larger orders and business deliveries are available.
