SEAMEO BIOTROP, or the Southeast Asian Regional Centre for Tropical Biology, is a leading brand in the field of tropical biology research and development. Established in 1968, the organization conducts research on various aspects of tropical biology across ecosystems, with a focus on agriculture, biodiversity, biofuel, biotechnology, environment, forestry, fishery, and wildlife, among others. The Centre is dedicated to enriching scientific knowledge and promoting the practical application of research findings to address development concerns in Southeast Asia.

Through funding support from the Government of Indonesia, SEAMEO, and partner organizations, the Centre's scientists conduct in-house and collaborative research. SEAMEO BIOTROP also offers a range of training programs aimed at producing improved human resources in the region. With a ISO accreditation, the Centre guarantees quality laboratory results and provides services such as soil, air, water, food, and feed analyses.
