## Description

Integrated Genome Browser (IGB) is a free, open-source desktop application for exploring and visually analyzing genomic data. Designed for speed and flexibility, it helps researchers inspect genes and genomes using data loaded from local files or online sources. IGB can display RNA sequencing coverage and gene structures, making features such as alternative splicing easier to examine. Users can also explore regions such as BRCA1, inspect PCR primers, and run BLAST searches from the browser. The software includes tools such as Sliced View, which trims introns to clarify gene structures, and ProtAnnot, which searches InterPro for conserved motifs and helps investigate how splicing may affect gene function. IGB also supports viewing UCSC Genome Browser Track Hubs, allowing users to compare the same data across different genome browsers. The project provides documentation, news, citation guidance, developer resources, and online learning materials. Its related offerings include IGB Apps, BioViz Connect, the GenoViz SDK and its Javadocs, and a Track Hub–Quickload Converter. Users can install the current browser or try an early-access development version.
