## Description

Birchwood Capital is a flat-fee wealth management firm serving high-net-worth families with $5 million to $25 million in assets. Based in Carlsbad, California, the firm offers one transparent annual fee that does not increase with assets, with no assets-under-management charges or hidden incentives. Its services combine investment management, tax strategy, and support for family wellbeing across generations. Tax planning includes strategies for portfolio withdrawals, concentrated holdings, Roth conversions, charitable giving, and reducing or eliminating a taxable estate. Investment services include portfolio construction, cash management, professional rebalancing, institutional investment strategies, and an annually updated Investment Policy Statement. Birchwood also helps families coordinate risk management and estate matters, make important financial decisions, and strengthen their human, social, intellectual, financial, and spiritual capital. The firm intentionally works with a limited number of families to provide deeper advice and continuity. Founder and President Stephen H. Nelson is a CFA charterholder and CFP professional. Birchwood shares additional guidance through its writings, annual letters, podcast, and frequently asked questions.
