## Description

Birdey is a free bird-tracking app for people who enjoy observing birds in the Netherlands, from beginners to experienced birders. It helps users build a personal list of the species they have seen and explore a collection of Dutch birds, including familiar garden visitors such as the house sparrow and blackbird, as well as rarer species such as the white-tailed eagle and bittern. Users can mark a species as seen and optionally record the date, location, and personal notes for each observation.

To make birdwatching more engaging, Birdey awards points based on species rarity: common birds are worth one point, while the rarest can earn up to ten. Users progress through ten levels and collect badges for milestones, categories, and notable sightings, such as spotting a rare bird. The species list is regularly expanded. Birdey is available at no cost, with no subscription or hidden fees; a free account provides access to its bird list, observation tracking, points, levels, and badges.
