## Description

**Birding Beijing**

Founded in August 2010 by British conservationist Terry Townshend, Birding Beijing celebrates the rich biodiversity of China’s vibrant capital. The platform serves as a hub for birders and wildlife enthusiasts, offering a wealth of resources on local avian species and their habitats. Focused on public engagement, Birding Beijing features guides to various wildlife, including amphibians, reptiles, butterflies, and even the iconic Beijing Swift and Cuckoo, both known for their remarkable migratory journeys.

Terry’s conservation efforts extend beyond awareness; he spearheads initiatives like the Valley of the Cats project, promoting sustainable tourism that supports local communities while protecting apex predators such as Snow Leopards. Having garnered international recognition, Birding Beijing not only highlights the ecological significance of the region but also fosters a deeper connection between the public and nature through educational programs and community involvement. With Terry’s vision and dedication, Birding Beijing stands as a vital resource in the realm of wildlife conservation and education.
