## Description

The British and Irish Society of Animal Science (BISAS) is a registered charity that supports the development of animal science in Britain, Ireland and internationally. It brings together people and organisations connected with the field, encouraging collaboration between academic and industry communities. Membership offers opportunities to progress and enhance careers, while corporate membership helps build links across organisations. BISAS supports students and early-career professionals through dedicated activities, and offers awards and scholarships to members and non-members.

The society provides professional development through self-paced training, training videos, continuing professional development resources and routes to formal accreditation. Its programme includes events, webinars, conferences and workshops covering topics such as livestock, animal nutrition, methane emissions and grasslands. Members and visitors can also access a jobs board, publications and news, including updates from correspondents and the society’s journals. BISAS shares information about its governance, partners and European Fund, and invites donations to support its work. Through these services and activities, the organisation promotes learning, career development and collaboration across animal science.
