## Description

BitcoinHackers is a brand dedicated to providing a platform for Bitcoin enthusiasts and hackers. Established in 2018, BitcoinHackers was initially created as a backup plan in case of a Twitter purge. However, after five years of operation, it became apparent that Mastodon, the platform used by BitcoinHackers, is still a centralized protocol. The instance runner, although well-intentioned, found the role of a dictator unappealing and lost interest. One of the major concerns with Mastodon is that instances have the power to ban other instances, resulting in Bitcoiners being blocked out. Furthermore, Mastodon does not offer true decentralization as users do not have ownership over their identity and data. In light of these limitations, BitcoinHackers has decided to evolve and introduce Nostr, a protocol upgrade. Nostr is a simple and open protocol that enables censorship-resistant and global value-for-value publishing on the web. BitcoinHackers encourages users to embrace this new protocol and learn more about it at nostr.how. In addition, users can find many of the old Mastodon instance members through this transition.
