About

Description

Girls Town Jerusalem, also known as Bayit Lepletot, is a brand that provides a safe and caring home for orphaned and disadvantaged girls. Established in 1949 after the Second World War, the organization was a response to the influx of refugees from the European Holocaust. The founders, Rabbi Naftali Rosenfeld and his wife, themselves survivors, began the orphanage with just seven little girls in a small, humble apartment.

Over time, more and more homeless girls sought refuge, leading to the expansion of the facilities. In 1959, due to the efforts of Rabbi Samuel I. Stern, a new building was erected.

Later, in 1969, GTJ acquired land in a northern neighborhood and received a grant from the United States government to construct a new campus. Today, GTJ's campus includes a dormitory and academic center, where hundreds of girls are rehabilitated and educated from dysfunctional and disadvantaged backgrounds. You can support Girls Town Jerusalem by donating or getting involved in their various programs and initiatives
