Blackbird Farm, located in Smithfield, Rhode Island, is a family-run business that takes pride in providing high-quality, sustainably raised meat products. Managed by Brandon Bouthillette, the farm is home to a variety of livestock, including antibiotic-free, no-added-hormones, pasture-fed, 100% Black Angus cattle and 100% pedigreed American Heritage Berkshire pigs. Blackbird Farm's journey began in 1978 when Brandon's father, Kevin, purchased the family home.
Over the years, his mother Ann Marie's passion for raising Black Angus cattle became a central focus, leading to the expansion of the farm. Ensuring the highest quality and genetic standards, Brandon's expertise in breeding 100% Black Angus cattle has garnered attention and accolades from various competitions and shows. In 2008, the farm began selling their exceptional beef directly to restaurants, quickly gaining popularity and demand.
With a growing inventory and increasing demand, Blackbird Farm now operates on over 200 acres, producing an average of 200 head of cattle and 300 pigs. Brandon's wife, Sarah, plays an integral role in managing inventory and deliveries, making Blackbird Farm a true family effort.
