# blackbirdfyi.com - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `blackbirdfyi.com` ## Description Blackbird Design develops patented, reusable masking systems for aircraft wheel and brake overhaul. Founded by aviation maintenance veterans, the company addresses the time and safety challenges of traditional tape-and-razor-blade masking with practical tools designed for shop-floor use. Its kits are engineered to the applicable OEM overhaul-manual specifications and made in the USA. The product range includes wheel masking kits for specific aircraft and wheel assemblies, and brake masking kits designed to protect critical surfaces during recoating. Kits attach by snapping or screwing into place, allowing technicians to mask components in under two minutes, then remove, clean, and reuse them. Blackbird reports that its system can reduce masking labor time by up to 95% compared with manual taping. The company also offers Orbs, snap-in nameplates that protect bearings in transit and can display a shop’s branding, as well as custom tooling for masking, protection, and handling needs. Blackbird provides fitment information, inventory details, a savings calculator, and quote support to help overhaul facilities identify suitable kits for their fleets. ## Industries - 🏭 Heavy Industry and Engineering - 🏭 Aerospace and Defense _(under Heavy Industry and Engineering)_ - 🏎 Vehicles - 🏎 Aviation _(under Vehicles)_ ## Logos & icons - logo _(primary)_ — PNG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/idHJd2TX7Y/w/988/h/446/theme/dark/logo.png?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1792910215705) ## Colors | Name | Hex | Theme | | --- | --- | --- | | Selective Yellow | #f5b700 | accent | | Cinnamon | #7a5300 | dark | | Gray Nurse | #eceeec | light | ## Fonts - Oswald — asset _(google)_ - -apple-system — asset _(system)_ --- _Source: _ _See [/llms.txt](/llms.txt) for a full list of agent-readable pages, and [/auth.md](/auth.md) for how agents authenticate._
