## Description

Blackburn College is a private college in Illinois focused on making higher education accessible and preparing students for life beyond the classroom. Its mission emphasizes transformative educational experiences for people from varied economic and social backgrounds. The College offers undergraduate majors and academic programs, online professional education, and resources such as a Center for Teaching and Learning, academic advising information, and a course catalog.

A defining feature is Blackburn’s student-led Work Program, described as the only one of its kind in the nation. Students gain practical work experience and professional skills while earning tuition credits, helping make college more affordable. The College also provides admissions and financial aid support, campus visits, and options for transfer, international, and returning students.

Campus life includes residence life, student activities, arts and creative expression, and athletics and intramural sports. Blackburn fields more than 20 NCAA and club sports teams and hosts over 100 athletic events annually. The 80-acre campus, sustainability initiatives, student support resources, alumni programs, and community events further shape the Blackburn experience.
