## Description

Black Doctors COVID-19 Consortium (BDCC) is a Philadelphia-area initiative focused on reducing the impact of coronavirus in African American communities. Its mission combines education and advocacy, responding to the disproportionate rates of COVID-19 diagnosis and death among African Americans. BDCC was created to address this need through accessible, community-centered services.

The consortium operates a mobile COVID-19 testing and vaccination program, offering free testing and vaccinations to Philadelphia residents and communities across Southeastern Pennsylvania. Its goal is to provide a barrier-free alternative that helps people in areas hardest hit by the pandemic access protection and care. The organization also shares information about COVID-19 and encourages people to consult the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for additional guidance.

BDCC is an initiative of It Takes Philly, Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Through its services, public education, and advocacy, the consortium works to support communities affected by the pandemic. People can learn more about its work through its website’s news and media gallery or contribute through donations to support its efforts.
