## Description

Blackdown Hills Riding Club is a friendly, member-run equestrian club based on the Devon and Somerset border, serving riders across the Blackdown Hills, Taunton, Exeter and Minehead. Founded more than 50 years ago, the club was created to give families and riders of different ages and means opportunities to socialise, learn and compete. Its welcoming ethos continues under a motivated committee, with members encouraged to help organise activities as well as take part.

The club offers a varied programme of equestrian events and training, including dressage, dressage to music, showing, show jumping, clear-round jumping and cross-country activities. Regular highlights include a dressage league, a spring show and a summer camp featuring two days of training, hacks and jumping, followed by a members-only dressage competition. Qualified trainers deliver sessions at different locations to accommodate the club’s geographically spread membership. Juniors are welcomed and represented through a dedicated committee role, with activities arranged for them during the year.
