## Description

The Black Fives is a pioneering organization dedicated to celebrating and preserving the history of African American basketball teams, players, and contributors prior to the integration of the NBA. Established as a public charity with a mission to honor the legacy of the Black Fives Era (1904-1950), the organization highlights the significant contributions of all-Black teams—often referred to as "colored quints" or "Negro cagers." Through initiatives like the Black Fives Online Museum, educational programs, and historical advocacy, the foundation raises awareness about African American heritage in basketball, promoting important conversations around race and sports today.

The Black Fives offers resources including in-depth team profiles, player biographies, and historical articles, inviting everyone to engage with this rich legacy. Their commitment to research, preservation, and promotion makes them essential stewards of basketball's history, emphasizing that African American basketball history is interwoven with the broader tapestry of American history. Supporters are encouraged to donate, volunteer, or simply share this impactful mission to "Make History Now!"
