Founded by Doug Hough, the stud's journey began with a focus on pinto horses but evolved in 2008 to center around Welsh Cobs, inspired by their strength, agility, and beauty. Key to their success is the acquisition of exceptional bloodlines, including the influential stallion Arawa Sir Ed, which paved the way for the development of a diverse herd of mares. Black River Welsh Cobs is committed to producing true-to-type, athletic Welsh Cobs suitable for modern equestrian disciplines. With each generation, the stud aims to preserve and promote the Welsh Pony and Cob breeds within New Zealand. The farm not only focuses on breeding but also on the performance of its progeny, seen thriving in riding and show competitions. Through the passion of Doug and his family, Black River is building a legacy of versatile and exceptional equine companions for riders and enthusiasts alike. ## Industries - 🐶 Pets and Animals - 🐶 Horses _(under Pets and Animals)_ ## Links - [facebook](https://facebook.com/Black-River-Welsh-Cobs-144944505582894) ## Logos & icons - logo _(primary)_ — PNG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/idWx6XfLAV/w/1/h/1/theme/dark/logo.png?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1741681942212) - icon _(primary)_ — JPEG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/idWx6XfLAV/w/377/h/377/theme/dark/icon.jpeg?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1741681941911) ## Colors | Name | Hex | Theme | | --- | --- | --- | | Cod Gray | #1d1d1d | dark | | White | #ffffff | light | ## Fonts - Helvetica Neue — asset _(custom)_ - Lato — asset _(google)_ --- _Source: _ _See [/llms.txt](/llms.txt) for a full list of agent-readable pages, and [/auth.md](/auth.md) for how agents authenticate._
