## Description

Black River Taxidermy is a taxidermy studio owned and operated by Joel Swecker in Rochester, Washington. Established in 2015 and located on the banks of the Black River, the business creates animal mounts and provides hide and skull preparation services for hunters. Its offerings include big game shoulder, pedestal, and full life-size mounts for deer, elk, bear, cougar, moose, and other animals, with standard and custom poses available. The studio also prepares European skull mounts, including cleaning, degreasing, and bleaching, with options for plaque or no-plaque display on barnboard, burl, or wired hangers. Additional services include rugs with felt backing and mounted heads, trapper soft-tanning, hide preparation for traveling hunters, and dermestid beetle cleaning. Black River Taxidermy serves customers by appointment, with drop-off and pick-up arranged directly with Joel. Customers can view examples of the studio’s work in its gallery and contact the business by phone, text, or email to request a quote or schedule a visit.
