Black Shack Recordings is a vintage recording studio located in Calw, Germany. Our studio, situated in a residential building from 1870, offers a unique and carefully curated selection of high-end equipment to deliver sounds that you've never thought of before. Our recording room, measuring about 24 m2, is designed with a natural acoustic reminiscent of iconic studios from the 1950s. Musicians love recording here without headphones, as it feels more natural and allows for a spot-on vintage sound. Our control room, measuring about 20m2, features a vintage Studer 269 console and Klein+Hummel speakers for monitoring. We also offer accommodation for up to 6 persons in a small band flat next to the studio, ensuring that your recording experience is enjoyable and relaxed. Founded in 2010, Black Shack Recordings has become the top address for lovers of Rockabilly, Country, Blues, and R&B music in Germany and neighboring countries. As active musicians and part of the rockin' scene ourselves, we understand your needs and offer listening experience and a fine selection of vintage gear rarely found in modern studios.
