blair3sat is an innovative, student-run cubesat team based at Montgomery Blair High School. Focused on advancing space technology and research, the team is developing a nanosatellite designed to measure the electron density of the ionosphere. This mission aims to map how radio frequency (RF) waves are influenced by ionospheric conditions, which play a crucial role in long-distance communications, including over-the-horizon radars. By capturing detailed data on the ionosphere, blair3sat enhances the reliability and affordability of communication technologies, contributing to a longstanding scientific objective.

Founded in December 2017, blair3sat has made significant strides, including the completion of first-generation CAD designs and participation in reputable conferences. The team is supported by generous sponsors, including General Dynamics Mission Systems, L3Harris, and Maryland Space Business Roundtable, which enable them to bring their ambitious projects to fruition. As blair3sat continues its journey, they remain open to partnerships and collaborations that foster innovation in the field of aerospace.
