## Description

Blijvend Verbonden is a grief and loss counselling practice led by Rebecca Dabekaussen, a grief therapist who specialises in supporting children, young people and adults during and after significant loss. The practice also offers guidance to professionals who want to help children facing difficult circumstances.

Its support addresses many forms of loss, including bereavement after a death and “living loss” connected to illness, disability, accidents or a condition that cannot be cured. The practice also recognises the impact of losing a sense of safety or the experience of childhood, and of losses that happened long ago as well as those happening now.

Blijvend Verbonden provides information about children and grief, and helps parents consider when a child may need additional support. It also advises teachers, group leaders and care professionals on communicating with children about serious illness, death and suicide, and on how to support them sensitively. Rebecca’s approach centres on making room for grief and finding a way to take up life again while keeping what matters close.
