BlueLightS is an innovative EU Horizon Europe project dedicated to enhancing ocean and water literacy among schoolchildren across Europe. With a mission aligned with the EU's objectives to restore oceans and waters by 2030, BlueLightS brings together 16 partners focused on fostering skills and competencies related to marine and freshwater environments. 

The brand emphasizes blue education, which engages students in marine and maritime topics through project-based learning. By creating a comprehensive knowledge base, providing support to European blue schools, and promoting a Community of Practice, BlueLightS aims to cultivate a sustainable blue economy while addressing ecosystem preservation and pollution reduction. 

Their initiatives include developing frameworks for effective ocean literacy programs, facilitating collaborative learning through networks like eTwinning, and engaging diverse stakeholders to ensure inclusivity in blue education. By encouraging local and regional collaborations, BlueLightS strives to build a thriving community of Blue Schools dedicated to empowering the next generation to become active stewards of our oceans and waterways.
