## Description

Bærum Montessoriskole is an independent educational alternative in Høvik, Norway, serving children from ages 6 to 16. Established in 1995, it is among Norway’s oldest Montessori schools and has around 140 pupils from grades 1 to 10. Students learn in mixed-age groups: grades 1–3, 4–6 and 7–10. The school is located at Ballerud farm in scenic surroundings, with access to metro, train and bus services.

Guided by Montessori principles, Bærum Montessoriskole aims to support each child’s individual path of discovery. Its approach encourages exploration, self-directed learning, flexible thinking, curiosity, creativity and problem-solving. Teachers provide guidance intended to inspire pupils to investigate further and take increasing responsibility for their learning.

The school offers primary and lower secondary education, along with an after-school programme (SFO). Families can find information about daily school life, staff, practical arrangements and admissions through the school, which accepts applications according to an annual deadline of 1 November. The school also provides contact channels for questions and shares updates about everyday activities and events.
