## Description

BOBY is a German smart-lighting brand founded by Marco Friedrich in 2024 to bring professional lighting solutions to homes. Drawing on his experience in LED module development at OSRAM and leadership of lighting projects at LI-EX, Friedrich created a product designed to make existing LED installations easier to integrate into smart homes.

BOBY’s main product is the BOBY Dim Module, a one-channel dimmer for 12V and 24V LED lighting. Installed between the power supply and the lights, it enables users to switch, dim and create lighting scenes through a compatible app, voice control, a physical button or automation. The module uses the Matter standard to support interoperability with platforms including Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home, Samsung SmartThings, Philips Hue and Home Assistant. Setup involves connecting the module and scanning its QR code.

BOBY highlights a dimming curve tailored to human perception, encrypted communication and German manufacture. The company also provides product manuals, technical information and installation resources, and offers its dimmer through its online shop.
