Join us in celebrating 90 years of the Boekenweek in 2025, where old traditions are revitalized with new life. Immerse yourself in the magic of good books that lift you up, broaden your perspectives, and offer insight into others. As a jury, we delve into manuscripts solely based on their stories, hoping to uncover the most surprising tale. Renowned authors from the Netherlands and Flanders are invited to submit novellas, with the best one becoming the Boekenweekgeschenk.

The Boekenweek, a significant part of our cultural heritage, continues to evolve with a writing competition that breathes new life into an ancient tradition. Explore the rich history of the Boekenweek with a wide array of novellas, essays, and literary works spanning decades, each offering a unique glimpse into the literary landscape of the time.
