## Description

Ogasawara Marine Center, operated by the certified NPO Everlasting Nature, is dedicated to the conservation and study of marine wildlife, particularly the green turtle (Chelonia mydas). Located on Chichijima in the Ogasawara Islands, the center conducts various research activities including nesting site surveys, hatching studies, and head-starting programs to bolster turtle populations. With an annual rearing of approximately 200 baby turtles, visitors can learn about their life cycles and the ecological significance of these majestic creatures.

The center also focuses on humpback whales and offers educational programs that explain their behaviors, breeding, and conservation needs. Volunteer opportunities are available for local residents and researchers seeking to contribute to marine conservation efforts. Ogasawara Marine Center promotes awareness about biodiversity loss and the impacts of human activity, reinforcing the importance of preserving these natural habitats for future generations. Through hands-on experiences and educational outreach, the center fosters appreciation and understanding of marine ecosystems among all visitors.
