## Description

Bookaroo is a children’s literature festival established by Bookaroo Trust, a public charitable trust, to celebrate reading for pleasure. Since its first festival in 2008, Bookaroo has travelled to 18 cities across India, Malaysia and Sri Lanka, creating opportunities for children to engage with books and the people who bring them to life. Its programmes connect young readers with authors, illustrators and storytellers through festival events and activities. The organisation also offers masterclasses and Schoolaroo, alongside its broader festival work and the LitHouse initiative. Bookaroo’s events are supported by publishers, international arts councils, embassies, sponsors and other collaborators. The festival continues to expand its reach through editions in different cities, with programmes featuring speakers and activities for children. Bookaroo shares festival updates, programme details and information about its work through its website, and invites people to volunteer, support the trust, or explore sponsorship and partnership opportunities. By bringing creators and children together, Bookaroo aims to make books a lively, enjoyable part of young people’s lives.
