Book Space Fest 2021 is an annual event that explores the power of literature to bring us closer together. In a world that has been profoundly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, ongoing conflicts, and societal challenges, the festival aims to address the need for connection and intimacy. The loss of physical touch, a fundamental element of human relationships, has had a significant impact on us all. Research has shown that social isolation and loneliness are as harmful to our health as smoking, alcoholism, and overeating.

Literature offers a unique opportunity for us to experience closeness and intimacy from a distance. Through books, we can travel through time and space, discover new worlds, and forge connections with fellow readers. It allows us to explore ourselves on a deeper level, especially during times of isolation when we finally come face-to-face with ourselves.

The festival features lectures, discussions, and various activities centered around this year's theme, encouraging us to find new values, new ways of exchanging information, and new forms of closeness. Topics such as long-distance love, intimacy through food, exploring our own countries, open conversations about uncomfortable topics, and the impact of technology will be explored.
