## Description

Boomerang’s Pet Foodbank is an England-based registered charity supporting pet owners who are struggling financially to feed their animals. Its mission is to help keep pets with the people who love them by providing food for dogs, cats and small animals when household budgets cannot stretch to cover their needs. The organisation recognises that financial hardship can force owners to choose between feeding themselves and their pets, and that support can help prevent pets from going hungry or being surrendered to already pressured rescue services. In addition to pet food, it has offered help with other everyday requirements. Boomerang’s previously operated pantries in Haverhill, Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket and Saffron Walden, and thanks its volunteers and supporters for helping feed thousands of pets since 2022. The charity has announced that it will close permanently from 18 December, and its pantries have stopped operating. Until closure, it plans to continue supplying community partners with pet food for owners facing hardship, subject to available supplies and volunteers.
