# BOR - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `bor.gov.lk` ## Description The Bureau of Rehabilitation is a Sri Lankan government institution established under the Rehabilitation Secretariat Act No. 2 of 2023. Operating under the Ministry of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs, it works to rehabilitate people with drug dependence and others identified by law as requiring rehabilitation, supporting their return to society. The Bureau offers structured rehabilitation services, including a six-month programme for people affected by drug dependence, with psychosocial support, awareness activities and vocational skills development. It also facilitates voluntary rehabilitation; a three-month programme for voluntary applicants began in October 2025 at the Navodaya Tertiary and Vocational Literacy Training Centre in Senapura. Its Post-Rehabilitation Assistance Branch gathers information on court-referred individuals and monitors and supports people after treatment and reintegration. Additional work includes drug-prevention awareness programmes for government officials, students and communities, and rehabilitation services for ex-combatants.
