## Description

The Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Historical Society (B&OHS) is a Pennsylvania-based nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the rich history of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company. Founded to safeguard artifacts and promote historical research, the society educates the public on the significant role of railroads in American life. With over 1,300 members, B&OHS fosters a vibrant community that shares a passion for various aspects of railroading, from architecture to model building.

The society organizes annual conventions featuring facility tours, workshops, and presentations by B&O historians, alongside regional mini-conferences that focus on discussion and education. Additionally, it publishes "The Sentinel," a quarterly magazine filled with articles and news relevant to the B&O's history, and produces specialty publications such as "The B&O Modeler," which caters to modeling enthusiasts. With a comprehensive archive of photographs, blueprints, and documents, the B&OHS remains at the forefront of documenting and celebrating the legacy of one of America's oldest rail companies.
