## Description

Born Free is a research group focused on ME/CFS, chronic disease, aging and cancer. Its website brings together a detailed systems-biology disease model and an experimental intervention protocol, with resources for patients, clinicians and technical readers. The model presents chronic illness as a possible interaction among mitochondrial dysfunction, redox imbalance, mineral handling, inflammation, infections, microbiome disruption and autonomic regulation. The site describes this framework as hypothetical and preliminary, and notes that some figures may contain errors.

Born Free’s protocol library covers topics including data collection, blood and microbiome testing, diet, sleep, pacing, dysbiosis, structural issues, electrolytes and remineralisation. It also provides practical digital tools, such as an electrolyte calculator, meal planner, Organic Acids Test utility, metabolic pathway visualisation and microbiome analysis resources. Additional materials include supplement-dosing guidance, references, videos and an AI-assisted navigation option. Visitors can explore the disease model, review protocol information, access educational content and join the group’s Discord community for questions and discussion.
