The brand's journey began in Mission Beach, CA, where Chris Borst started shaping surfboards in a backyard shack. What started as a hobby quickly evolved into a passion for Chris, driven by his love for surfing and shaping. With years of experience and dedication, Chris honed his skills at Rusty Surfboards, shaping and designing a variety of boards. In addition to his love for surfboarding, Chris also excelled in skateboarding, having a successful career as a professional vert skater for Powell Skateboards and Billabong/Hurley. Today, Chris has retired from competitive skateboarding to exclusively focus on Borst Designs and his shaping machine business.
