## Description

Corporación Bosques de Zapallar is a Chilean conservation organization dedicated to protecting and restoring the coastal Mediterranean forests of Zapallar, in the Valparaíso Region. Working since 2008, it aims to conserve the Bosques de Zapallar biological corridor in perpetuity, safeguarding a threatened ecosystem recognized for its native biodiversity and climate-refuge role.

The organization advances conservation through legal protection of natural areas, ecological restoration, and responsible management. It also supports scientific research into local flora, fauna, microclimates, and climate refuges, collaborating with universities. Through environmental education and guided visits, it helps students, residents, and visitors understand the value of native forests and their species.

A key site is Parque El Boldo, a protected area open to the public for regulated visits, conservation, research, and learning. The corporation also contributes to protection efforts at Cerro de la Cruz and the private protected area La Judea. Visitors can arrange a visit to Parque El Boldo in advance; it is open on weekends, with a daily capacity of 45 people.
