## Description

Bow Capital is a venture capital firm focused on founders building technologies for the physical, industrial, and biological worlds. Anchored by its partnership with the University of California, the firm connects breakthrough research with commercial opportunities, backing companies from early stages, with a focus on Seed and Series A investments. Bow reports more than 50 core portfolio companies and an average investment of $5 million in core companies.

Its investment thesis centers on AI powered by proprietary data from real-world environments, rather than models trained solely on public web content. Bow invests across modern industry, including robotics and industrial automation; defense, space, and communications; networks for commerce, freight, and delivery; and digital biology, including healthcare operations, diagnostics, and discovery. Portfolio companies include Ambi Robotics, which develops robotic parcel-sorting solutions, GrayMatter Robotics, which builds autonomous surface-finishing robots, Nuro, which develops self-driving delivery vehicles, and DeepCell, which enables single-cell biological analysis. Through its UC relationships, Bow works with students, faculty, alumni, and innovation centers to identify and support promising science and technology ventures.
