## Description

Brain Injury Association Otago and Canterbury is a registered charitable organisation supporting people affected by brain injury and their whānau across Otago and Canterbury. Its vision is for individuals and families to receive the recognition and support they need to live well. The organisation works to empower people, encourage independence, and help them navigate the challenges that can follow a brain injury.

Its services include personalised assistance from Liaison Officers, who help individuals and families access services and work through interactions with government organisations. Facilitated support groups provide a welcoming space to share experiences, build confidence, and strengthen community connections. The association also offers educational resources, including information on brain injury basics, concussion, recovery, and related factsheets.

Through support, education, advocacy, and community engagement, Brain Injury Association Otago and Canterbury aims to help people make informed choices and rebuild their futures. Individuals or families seeking help can submit a referral, while supporters can get involved through membership, donations, events, and the organisation’s newsletter, podcast, and community stories.
