BrandJRNY is a grant-funded Community Branding Initiative at the West Virginia University's Reed College of Media. Founded in January 2015 with a $130,000 grant from the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation, BrandJRNY aims to revitalize West Virginia communities through integrated branding efforts and creative strategy. The initiative has worked with pilot project communities including Matewan, Grafton, Whitesville, Pineville, and Point Pleasant.

Their campaigns focus on increasing tourism promotion, improving economic development, and boosting community pride. In January 2018, the American Electric Power Foundation awarded BrandJRNY a $250,000 educational grant to expand their work to two more communities. They send their teams into communities to build connections and create customized branding plans that tell each town's unique story.

Using a mix of social and digital media, storytelling, relationship building, traditional media, and advertising, BrandJRNY helps launch cohesive brands for their communities.
