## Description

Braniff International is the official company continuing the legacy of Braniff International Airways, the pioneering American airline founded in Oklahoma City in 1928 by brothers Thomas E. and Paul R. Braniff. The airline operated for 54 years, growing from a single five-seat Stinson Detroiter serving Oklahoma City and Tulsa into a major carrier with routes across the United States, the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Its history includes landmark aircraft such as the Boeing 747 and Concorde, as well as the celebrated 1965 “End of the Plain Plane” campaign, which brought vivid colors and distinctive design to aviation.

Following the end of Braniff’s air operations in 1982, the company continued as a retail, hospitality, travel service, and brand licensing organization headquartered at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. Its offerings and activities include Braniff-branded hotels, resorts, restaurants, and tours; licensing; and historical resources such as film and photo archives. The organization also shares Braniff’s aviation and design heritage through preservation initiatives, events, publications, and foundation projects.
