Brekstad Musikkfestival is a music festival based in Brekstad, Norway, with roots in a community-led event first held in 2002. Founded after musician Erlend Eide returned to Brekstad, the festival was developed with local initiative and the support of musician colleagues from Trondheim. Its early success drew wider interest, and in 2003 it expanded into a broader cultural festival, which continued through 2013. After a period away, Brekstad Musikkfestival returned in 2026, reviving the original idea and bringing Eide together with fellow musicians Henning Bjerkestrand Rø and Rolf Hoff Baltzersen, among other colleagues. The festival’s program is shaped by a committee comprising Eide, Rø and Baltzersen, with Eide serving as artistic director and managing director. Its identity also draws on the original 2002 logo designed by Marius Ulleberg, later adapted for the cultural festival. Brekstad Musikkfestival offers audiences a program of live music and presents itself as a continuing cultural gathering rooted in local collaboration and its musical history.
