## Description

Brekstad Musikkfestival is a music event based in Brekstad, Norway, with roots in a festival first planned in 2002 by musician Erlend Eide after he returned to the area. The original event was built through volunteer effort and collaboration with musicians from Trondheim, including Henning Bjerkestrand Rø. Rolf Hoff Baltzersen also became an important performer and contributor to the programme. Following the successful first festival, the event expanded into a broader cultural festival in 2003, which continued until 2013. After a period away, Brekstad Musikkfestival returned in 2026, drawing on the original idea and bringing Eide, Rø and Baltzersen together again with fellow musicians. The festival’s programme is developed by a committee comprising Eide, Baltzersen and Rø, while Eide serves as artistic director and general manager. The organisation presents live music and cultural programming, and its visual identity revisits the original 2002 logo designed by Marius Ulleberg. The festival is supported by a board and maintains a presence on Facebook and Instagram.
